About This Site
This site is the written account of trials, tribulations, adventures, revelations, experiences, and thoughts on my journey to becoming the ideal man. I will record accounts of the greatest I have found in the world (nutrition, exercise, mental performance), the hardest obstacles I have encountered (death, depression), and the greatest revelations that have occurred to me (living the ideal, defining purpose).
This site is about the revolution I have taken against my former life in order to live as a greater man with each passing day. This Revolution of mine is an effort to pursue the ideal man within me, to pursue the ideal life that is rightfully mine, and to only live by values and with purpose.
Every man should look at his life and ask himself: “Is my life most precious to me?”, “Of what purpose is my life?”, “What is my ideal and am I reaching towards it?”, and “Will I fight for the fulfillment of my life and against anyone who dares to chain me down?” If the answers are not clear, then it is time you begin a Revolution within yourself to allow your ideal to live.
So, Let’s Start a Revolution.
About Dan Schlegel
I am a 20 year old student of the world studying Philosophy, Human Nutrition and Biomechanics, Business and Economics, Education and Psychology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, and Engineering.
I am now taking over a year away from college to embark on a personal journey of discovery. Before my Leave of Absence I was studying Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY.
My main purpose in life is to create: to be the greatest inventor possible by my own ability, while creating an entirely sustainable and self-sufficient life for myself. My goal is to become a modern-day Renaissance Man pursuing the greatest I can create and achieve.
I am involved in Argentine Tango as an expression of leading as a man and for pure enjoyment; Primal eating for natural, clean and optimal health; HIT for the greatest possible return on strength for time invested (and safety of performance); sustainability and self-sufficiency to create a world of interdependent individuals (not dependents) starting with myself first and foremost.
I live by the following three quotes (all from Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand)
For the right to life: “I swear—by my life and my love of it—that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.”
For the pursuit of happiness: “No one’s happiness but my own is in my power to achieve or to destroy.”
For determining what is right: “Consider the reasons which make us certain that we are right but not the fact that we are certain. If you are not convinced, ignore our certainty. Don’t be tempted to substitute our judgment for your own.”
